Identifying Modes of Writing

   Actually there are 4 modes of writing that i know, that is Descriptive, Expository, Argumentative and Narrative. Now i'd like to explain the purpose of the writing of each modes of writing.

   1. Descriptive

• To make the readers see, feel or hear what the writer wants.

   2. Expository

• To explain factual information

   3. Argumentative

• To propose an idea to readers
• To persuade readers

   4. Narrative

• To tell a story
• To tell a chronology of events
